What does the blue pen icon in the activity view of a visitor profile mean?

Accepted Answer

The blue pen icon next to recent activities allows you to edit certain information.

Once you click on the blue pencil it will take you to the following screen where you are able to:

create a tag for that page so all visitors to this page will be tagged
edit the page title if you want to change how it’s displayed in CANDDi
edit the page category (eg. product, contact, pricing; however, this is done automatically when you start using CANDDi)

NOTE: Sometimes this will be shaded out. These instances are where it is not possible to put tags on certain actions.

Installing the Outlook Plugin

The instructions below will help you to install the CANDDi Outlook plugin.

Go here
Click on the Install file and follow the instructions
Close and re-open Outlook
Once installed, send an email to help@canddi.com with a link to your homepage

Your account manager can then confirm the links are tracking.

You'll be able to see all email 'opens' and 'clicks' if you go to 'Live Feed', which can be found at the top right-hand corner of Outlook.

CANDDi email plugin explained

With CANDDi you can get a plugin for Outlook or Gmail to track your daily emails opens and clickthroughs:

Here is the plugin explained:

Gives you the number of emails sent, how many included the tracking (to check if it is tracking have a look at this FAQ)), how many were opened and how many people became identified through your email
Then in the list below you have a list of all the people that have opened your emails with the precise time when the action took place.
If a recipient clicked through your email, it will appear as it is in number 3. If not already identified, this will cause the person to become identified in CANDDi and it will add that activity in the activity log on their CANDDi profile; if already identified then CANDDi will add this activity to the profile.
Gives you the option to see a list view of all the emails opened and clicked through; or an individual view of a contact with a brief preview of their activity on the site and an option to see more in their CANDDi profile

How to track your Email Campaign

To track your email campaign, you will need to generate a tracked link in CANDDi, and then paste this into your email platform instead of an ordinary link.

If we have previously integrated with an email platform, you can find them in your CANDDi Dashboard in the Email Integration Generator.

In the top left of the Dashboard you can find "Identify". Select "Bulk Email Marketing", and choose your platform from the drop down list (or type in part of its name so it shows on top and you don't have to scroll through all of them)

If you can't see your email platform, don't despair! We need to set it up. Email help@canddi.com to do this.

If you find your email platform in the dropdown list you can select it, click YES to Google Analytics (Unless you are using your email platform's default Google Analytics - See NOTE below) and fill in the details as below. Make sure that you type ‘email’ into the campaign medium box.

Campaign source can be for example specific mailing list in your email marketing platform (ex: MC_manufacturer which stands for MailChimp and the manufacturer mailing list). In terms of Campaign name, we usually advise the date, ie 070917, or the campaigns specific name. Campaign source and campaign name are for streaming purposes so the data is neat on your dashboard. Though make sure there are no spaces between words and numbers! (Use underscore instead)

Capture CANDDi data direct to Salesforce (Web-to-Lead)

Salesforce Web-to-Lead is an excellent way to integrate capture enquiries from your website directly into CANDDi. (See here for Salesforce introduction) ((ADD LINK: https://help.salesforce.com/apex/HTViewHelpDoc?id=settingupweb-to-lead.htm))

By adding this integration code into your Salesforce configuration and onto your website, your users can click directly from Salesforce to see the CANDDi profile.

These are the changes you need to make to Salesforce and your website:

Add a new field into Salesforce for all Leads. We recommend calling this something like CANDDi URL. You need to get the API Id for this field. See here for help ((ADD LINK https://help.salesforce.com/apex/HTViewHelpDoc?id=adding_fields.htm&language=nl))

Use the web-to-lead form creator to make your web-to-lead form. Remember to add the new field into this form so that you can insert data via the web-front-end. Then, get the default Web-to-lead code from Salesforce and paste into your website.

Find the field with the API Id this will name the following HTML: <input name="APIId" and add an additional attribute id="canddiprofile".

Add the following code into your website (underneath) the Web-to-lead form. NOTE: The strAccount should be your CANDDi Account slug - the first part of the https://[strAccount].canddi.com.
